Welcome to the State of California’s DVBE Construction Firms Directory!

This directory was developed by the California Department of General Services (DGS) to promote greater public awareness of the location of DVBE construction firms statewide.

Information on California’s DVBE Construction Firms Directory
When you visit the Directory of DVBE Firms Web site, you will see a map of California, with flags identifying four categories of contractor licenses. You can search the database by any one of the following categories:

  • • A-General Engineering Contractor
  • • B-General Building Contractor
  • • Both A-General Engineering and B-General Building Contractor
  • • C-Specialty Contractor (includes “D” Subcategories) and does not have either A-General Engineering or B-General Building Contractors License

California’s DVBE Program
The State established a DVBE participation goal of at least three percent in 1989. The goal applies to the total contract dollars expended each year by a State department. Each State department establishes their own method for attaining the goal, and they have the discretion to include the program requirements within individual contracts. For more information on the DVBE Program, visit: www.pd.dgs.ca.gov/dvbe/default.htm

The DGS established a DVBE incentive pursuant to Military and Veterans Code § 999.5(a) in October 2007. Each state department incorporates the use of the DVBE incentive into their plan to ensure achievement of the three percent overall DVBE goal annually. For more information on the DVBE incentive, visit: http://www.pd.dgs.ca.gov/dvbe/dvbeincentive.htm
